Book a Canmore Golf Trip

A mountain golf base at the gateway to Banff. Tee times at Stewart Creek and Kananaskis, lined up for you.

Plan your trip

A Canmore golf trip is a Rocky Mountain golf base just 20 minutes from Banff, where you can play championship mountain courses by day and stay in a walkable mountain town by night. Stewart Creek anchors the golf, with the two Kananaskis courses a short drive away, all set among the peaks of the Bow Valley. Fairways arranges the tee times, so you pick the courses and dates and we handle the booking.

Mountain golf, one base

Stewart Creek, and a course count that punches above its size

For a town this size, Canmore has a remarkable amount of golf. The course we anchor a trip around is Stewart Creek, with Kananaskis a short drive away.

Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club

Built on the site of a former coal mine, this Gary Browning design weaves the mining history into a par 72 framed by the Three Sisters. The first hole drops 90 feet off the tee, there is a local rule for a free drop out of the old mine shafts, and the conditioning is excellent.

Kananaskis, 30 minutes away

Just down the highway in Kananaskis Country, two full 18-hole courses, Mount Kidd and Mount Lorette, make an easy day trip from a Canmore base, with "over 120 silica sand bunkers" between them.

Canmore as a base for Rockies golf

Canmore sits about an hour west of Calgary and 20 minutes from Banff, right at the edge of the mountains. That makes it the natural base for a Rockies golf trip: close to the airport, full of places to stay and eat, and within striking distance of the best mountain courses.

The season is short, roughly late spring to early fall, with high summer the surest bet. Book mountain tee times early, because the prime morning slots go fast.

About an hour and a quarter west of Calgary and roughly 20 minutes from Banff, which makes it an ideal base for a Rockies trip.
